If he knows anything positive about lizardmen and the water tribes, he will perform a Prestidigitation, pulling water from his waterskin and swirling it in a globe above his hands.

But THEY seem to know something. Are you moving the wagon closer? Or moving closer by getting off the wagon?Swifthand wrote:I move closer as they beacon us forward.

Upon closer inspection, the rune on the mystics amulet is not the same as Alex's ... but it's of similiar make and craftsmanship. If you remember, one side of Alex's amulet has a knight on a sea horse; the other side has a crane guarding a river. You can only see one side of the mystic's amulet, but the rune looks almost like a bear standing inside a vortex; but you're not quite sure (because these pictograms are so complex, it's difficult to descern some of the details without careful study).
BTW, Davin is the only one who has noticed it.The lizardfolk jump back, startled, and lift their spears. Then, when they realize Alex isn't going to attack them, they easy up, and lower their weapons again. Some of them begin to whisper to each other.magicspellz12 wrote:Alex's eyes widen. Is everyone else dropping their weapons?
Is anybody else moving towards the beckoning mystic?

They seem amazed and delighted.
"Akaran. Akaran." The mystic says, directly to Alex, "An grang-rywal?"
He lifts his free hand to shoulder height, and the a string of water rises to his taloned hand. Closing his eyes, the water begins to swirl into a rough globe; not as smooth or spherical as yours, though.
Give me an Insight Check.

They seem to want the party to disarm, at least as a sign of good faith.

The water globe hovers in the air for a second, still spinning, and then freezes into a sphere of ice, smashing down into the ground inches away from Alex's head.

Halcyon wrote:Verity addresses the party members who haven't disarmed, "Drop your weapons, friends, for they mean us no harm, and it's for us to show we've no quarrel with them."
Then he slowly wheels the wagon around to approach the Mystic. He stops if they seem alarmed. "Rather not leave Zephyr in the bog if he's taking us to the village"
Heal check on Alex 17 total.

magicspellz12 wrote:Alex's eyes flutter open. Verity finds a pair of ice blue orbs searching his face.
He takes his hand and is heaved up. Shaking his head he presses his thumb and forefinger to his head, rubbing his temples.
"Sorry...It's just...he..." He shakes his head, glancing at the icy Orb by his feet and casually unfreezing it and stringing the water back into his waterskin.
Seeing that not much has changed since he saw the Lizardman greet him with Aquamancy, Alex presumes he wasn't out for long.
"So...erm...still in a bit of a conundrum aren't we. Perhaps we should get off the wagon and offer them some gold to let us sleep here using some crude sign language."

Swifthand wrote:I re-sheath and bow and arrows and drop them next to Kalee.
Holding out my hand, I say, "I think you can get out from under there", and help Kalee to her feet.
I jump off the wagon and move toward the mystic, watching Alex. "Are you alright? The leader has an amulet likes yours...it looks like a bear in a vortex? You said you have magicks that will allow you to speak with them...what do you need? Perhaps we can find it, of trade them for it."

Re: Book One: Chapter One: "Dark Skies"
Malazek wrote:Kalee follows Davin, as he jumps off the wagon and approaches the mystic. The mystic waves them over with a friendly smile. Pointing to Kardan and Straegis, he sternly states "Na wadans." But then the mystic extends his arms toward Alex, Vangg, and Verity and says "Kam! Kam!"
The surrounding hunters start moving toward the wagon, with their spears pointed toward the water.
"Na wadans" the mystic says, again.

Alex hops off the wagon, his stepping on the surface of a puddle like it was rock thanks to his magic boots. He steps towards the lizardmen.
"I just need some items that will channel magic, such as precious stones or crystals...I don't think the Moonstones would cut it though."

Malazek wrote:As the wagon draws nearer, several of the hunters position themselves between the wagon and the village; Verity stops short of running them over.
As the hunters surround the wagon, one of them looks over Straegis carefully, and then yells to the mystic "Anarm!"
The Mystic nods, and the same hunter says to Straegis "Gya Gya."
The other pulls the sword from the water, and wraps it in a fur blanket with the bow, the hammer, and the other sword. One of the hunter's carries the bundle towards the mystic, Alex, Davin, and Kalee; as if he's carrying it to the village.
Two hunters remain behind, waiting for Kardan to hand over his spear. Finally, Kardan complies. The spear is put with the other weapons, and taken to the village.
Finally, the mystic turns the party members nearest to him, and says "Kam kam" and starts walking toward the village. The mystic and the hunters lead you ALL toward the village.
OOC: I made an executive decision for Kardan; everyone else was doing it, so i figured he would too. I hope that was the right decision.
Looking back, you see the two last hunters bringing the horses in behind you.

Malazek wrote:The tribe leads you and your horses to a large wooden lodge at the far end of the camp. Several of the lizardfolk come in behind you with clay bowls full of smoked fish, unfamiliar greens, and spotted truffles. Along side it they set two clay caraffes; one filled with clear water and the other with a strange milky substance. Quietly they leave. And you're alone. Aside from the call of a lone bullfrog, the night is silent.
OOC: I'll give you a few minutes to role-play yourselves in the cabin.

Sundown wrote:"I hope this meal doesnt cost me my weapon , or my life" Kardan says as he begins to eat the smoked fish and drink the milky substance. "Ill eat first and make sure the food isnt poisoned , if it doesnt sit well with me like other food from the Malbog , i will be armed after all. Kardan says with a smirk on his face. By the amount Kardan eats , you wonder if he meant to test the food , or just eat most of it....
