Gumphrey wrote:"Dwarves aren't real, are they? Elodie?" ... "So, where's all my gear?"

"Well, I've never seen one or even actually ever heard of one really existing, but I've heard stories of dwarves, and you, my friend, fit the description. That's pretty neat, right? One-of-a-kind Gumphrey!"

While Lindy is gone, Elodie will explain to Gumphrey what happened in the ruins--how Gumphrey was right about the "suspicious holes", and how she and Talmut were also poisoned, and that she was able to finally get the crystal. She also tells Gumphrey that Jeremiah and Flint are still at the ruins, hoping to find Mr. Mittens--and that Gumphrey's gear is also with Jeremiah.

Lindy wrote: "Here's your change ... it was only ten."

Elodie thanks Lindy and then addresses everyone in the room. "So, should we head back out to the ruins?"

"Okay, then, unless anyone needs to gather any supplies, I think we should head out!"

When everyone is ready, Elodie will go to fetch her horse and begin the journey back to the ruins.

Yes.

“So, I'll just take my friend and go?" it asks.*
*OOC: Not the unconscious one; the other one. The one that has been talking is now asking if he can leave.

And so ... Elodie, Lindy, Halvar, Glory, Talmut, and the new Gumphrey had back out into the wild, journeying toward the ruins of the Arx Scopulus. The air is still cold, but by now the sun has had time to warm-away most of the chill. The ride will take a couple of hours, as usual.

OOC: Your narrative is several hours ahead of Jeremiah's, so I can't have ou arrive until he catches up, chronologically.

And so, Flint and Jeremiah begin their watch, with the two Gargoyles resting by the fire. The one is still unconscious and the other is clearly nervous about his predicament.

About an hour into the rest, Jeremiah hears a faint "Meow" echoing through the halls. Nobody else seems to have heard it. He listens for a moment, and hears it again. "Meow." It seems to be coming from the east; from the rooms you haven't explored, yet.

Flint grabs his gear and follows the Jeremiah. Cautiously, they move down the narrow hall, down the stairs, carefully squeezing past the stone bars, until finally they reach the "golem" room between the two libraries. "Meow." The cat sound seems to be coming from the unexplored rooms to the west, through the same door that the missing fire elemental disappeared through, so long ago.

Carrying the torch, Flint follows closely behind. The two intrepid adventurers work their way to the end of the hallway, where an open door awaits. Peering through the door, Jeremiah sees part of a dimly-lit room, still partially engulfed by the shadows.

On the far side of the room, he spots a number of tables, overburdened with odd-shaped glassware stacked in bizarre wooden racks. All of it is covered by a think layer of ancient dust.

On the floor, before the tables, is what at first appears to be some sort of rubble or wreckage, composed primarily of wood, stone, and metal. After staring at the pile for a moment, Jeremiah realizes that it was vaguely human-shaped at one time: its wood-and-metal fingers jut out from its lifeless hands in a twisted mockery of pain and agony, while its stone head sits nearby, completely removed from its body.

As he studies the strange form, Jeremiah hears rustling from the shadows to his right.

"Here mittens..."
When the woodsman dangles the jerky toward the dark corner, the rustling turns to a metallic clang, followed by a deep snarling ... whatever is in that corner, it's much too large to be a common house cat. Following behind, Flint brings the light into the room  ... which reveals three large cages sitting in the corner. Two of the cages are empty, but the third contains a creature that resembles a large wolf, but it appears to be very ill ... perhaps even (un)dead.

Large patches of its leathery skin and dark brown fur seem to have rotted away, leaving only decayed and clotted muscle behind. Its glowing red eyes seems to be partially filmed over, although the "milky" appearance could be due to dry scratches on the lens. What's left of its broken and yellowed teeth are dangerously sharp, and probably polluted with who knows what. This poor creature, if it can still be called that, did not live a happy life.

The cage is locked. Jeremiah does not see Mittens (hopefully, he wasn't eaten by the sickly wolf-thing).

Not wanting to explore to deeply into this dungeon with a small group, Jeremiah will turn around and head back. His intent is to try and watch the entrance/exit and make sure no one gets in or out.
