A week later, it looks as if the Wizards Three have just about finished the platform.

Mittens walks up to you and hands you three ceramic eggs. "Once the portal opens, you must smash these eggs and throw them into the portal, ONE AT A TIME  ... but, before you do, you must make sure that nothing from the Far Realm has escaped into your world. I mean, OUR world. Whatever comes through the portal must be slain, before any more shards can be tossed in. It's okay if something comes through after you've thrown an egg, but you must destroy it before smashing the next egg. After you've thrown the third egg, you'll know immediately if it worked or not, because the portal will collapse. If anything comes through after the third egg is tossed, then we failed and all is doomed."

"Lastly, I suggest you show these eggs to the former versions of me, Odion, and Malabus as soon as you can. They will know what they are and what has to be done."

"Our magicks are drained, but we will do what we can," Mittens says. Odion and Malabus stop to his side and the three of them being to cast spells.


  • Far Realm Travel. +4 bonus on rolls to move around in the Far Realm AND immunity to blindness, critical hits, ability score damage, deafness, diseases, drowning, electricity, poison, stunning, and any spell that affects physiology or respiration. (Duration: 25 Hours)


  • Moment of Prescience. Once during the duration, you gain a +25 bonus on a single d20 roll OR to your AC; choose before the roll. (Duration: 25 hours OR until discharged)


  • Protection from Spells. +8 bonus on saves against magic. (Duration: 250 minutes)

"To a certain degree, that depends on exactly when you arrive. Since we can only send you back to the platform, I assume we will be in this very tower. (Though, if memory serves, I did have to leave for a few moments, to recover the remains of your companions). The only real complication, then, is that your former selves will ALSO be in the tower."

As soon as Elodie and Jeremiah and Gumphrey are ready, the Wizards Three direct them to stand on the busted remains of the old platform. Moments after the three of them begin chanting, you experience the sensation of falling ... and then, suddenly, Mittens is gone and the platform looks to be repaired. 

Odion and Malabus look at you and say "What happened?" and "Yes, do tell us: what is wrong?"

Before you can answer, you hear Mittens say "Get some rest. When you awake, your friends will he hale and healthy."  His voice sounds distant, like and echo another room, perhaps on the floor above you. The stone floors and ceilings muffling the sound.

Then, you hear Jeremiah say "Thanks Mittens, see you in the morning," but it's not the Jeremiah that is standing beside you.

A moment later, the voice of Elodie is heard. "Thank you, Mittens. In the morning, I would like a bit more information about travelling in the planes and how we should prepare for battle."

Odion and Malabus look at each other and then back to you. "Tell us."

When Odion looks at the eggs, a grim look comes across his visage. He gestures for Malabus to look at them.
"Oh, dear."
"I told you to stop calling me that."
"Calling you what?"
"Dear."
"That's what I said?"
"What is?"

"We need to show these to Mittens."
"Indeed."

Looking at the eggs, Mittens says "This is most dire. Well, I'd better go get Talmut and the dragon before we begin."

A little while later, Mittens teleports away ... but returns seconds later with a handful of dust (Talmut) and the statue of a dragon (Miphelgara). Odion and Malabus move to assist. The Wizards Three then chant together, briefly, in order to return Talmut and Mphelgara to life. "Those are very draining magicks, for wizards. We'll need to rest before opening the portal. Fortunately, you three need to hide, anyway, until morning."

Moving as quietly as possible, Mittens then leads you up to suite of rooms on the third floor (the floor above where your former selves are staying). "You should stay in here until morning," he says. "Miphelgara and Talmut should stay with you, so you can explain the situation to them, as well. Odion and Malabus will help me prepare the portal spell."
