Straegis quickly looks at Mordax, then at Davin, then back to Mordax...not sure he heard what he thinks he just heard.

The other "bad" Maor tumbles to his feet and slashes the already hurting Alverdine.
(Another CRIT!)

Two more arrows from Davin and the F9 Maor is starting to look like a porcupine. A bloody porcupine.

Mordax lunges forward, and drops Maberon with a vicious thrust from his trident (Reaping Strike? 25 to hit, 12 Damage).

Hound bites the last Maor, and again pulls his feet out from under him.
The F9 Maor is again Prone.

Verity uses his Divine Challenge, but this time the Maor takes advantage of the opportunity and strikes Verity (Divine Challange provokes OAs from adjacent enemies) ... but luckily the hit seems to have less power than the Maor's previous attacks (12 Damage).

Verity follows through with a brutal hit, sapping the Maor's strength even more.

Init 13
Alex becomes increasingly frustrated as yet another water whip misses.

Posting for Straegis because he is gone for the weekend ...
Straegis steps into a tactical position and runs his blade through the remaining Maor (CRIT! 21 Damage) ...
... the Junior Marshal has slain his traitorous foe.



That's 470 XPs each for the fight. That brings everyone to 5728.
That's enough for 5th Level.
At 5th Level you get HPs and a Level 5 Daily Attack Power.

Passive Insight: Verity senses that the tooth-removal was not mere trophy-collection ... but rather an act of protocol.

Passsive Perception: Davin notices that the removed teeth have tiny magical sigils on them.

  • 1 Vial filled with "Oil of Flesh Returned." This magical oil removes petrification.
  • 10 "Stonemeal Bisquits." These Dwarven biscuits are not only filling and nutritious, but they increase your health and endurance as well.

Curiously, the Maor had NO magical items on them (aside from their deadly teeth).

The wagon doesn't get very far, however, before Davin sees the City Guard approaching from both directions. The wagon is already mid-turn when he notices them, so Davin isn't quite sure whether they saw the wagon or wether they could have identified it already.

Both Davin and Verity suspect that the approaching guard were coming to stop the fight and/or check out the scene, but upon seeing the blood on your clothes, they realized who the culprits are. They are NOW after the wagon.

You still might be able to lose them, if you chose to try. Several STEALTH and STREETWISE checks will be needed.
