Important NPCs

Post  Malazek on Tue May 24, 2016 8:04 am

In this thread, I will attempt to maintain an ongoing list of the important NPCs that you either meet or hear about. For ease of reference, I will include the chapter and page number in #.# format, so that "Adventure 1, Page 1" one would be listed as "1.1"

Bargundir (1.5) A warg who was in cahoots with Mutspew's goblins, he claims the goblins are holding his cubs and forcing him to work with them.

Black-robed Stranger (1.2). Jonrick mentioned that a stranger in black robes witnessed the attack. The BRS may or may not be named "Nalkor."

Elderly Apothecary Woman (1.1) An old woman from Twin Towns runs a local apothecary. She helped cure Jonrick and offered to teach Iris the secret of making healing potions, in exchange for the ingredients to do so. The party never asked for her name.

- Bloodleaf. Looks like a dark red oak leaf. Grows on trees, high in the nearby hills.
- Witch Moss. Blue green moss that grows on exposed roots along nearby mountain streams.
- Norgan's Stool. Yellowish-brown mushrooms, found under dead wood in the saddles between the hills.

Goblins (1.5) A group of goblins (led by Chief Mutspew) was responsible for the attack on Jonrick. The party assaulted their lair and discovered that many of the goblins were infected with the Great Plague. As it turns out, Chief Mutspew was already dead when the party arrived (presumably killed by Nalkor).

Hova (2.16). A mysterious old woman in the service of Wodana. She asked Iris to sit with her and eat a meal. Iris gave her 2 coins, but did not stay.

Jonrick (1.1). The old book merchant who collapsed in twin towns and then hired the party to recover his wares. His business ledger says he bought the Morbis Malum for "Joretta." He was travelling with an apprentice and two experienced guards when he was attacked.

Landsends (1.1). A once powerful merchant family & the parents of the Iris and Jasmine.

Mr. Oliver & Sons (2.25) Oralee's employees.

Nalkor (1.16). Felix sang a song about a man named Nalkor who cursed the goblins on the same morning that they attacked Jonrick. Nalkor left Felix for dead, but told him to meet him in Dockin town, if he ever escaped. Nalkor may or may not be the "black-robed stranger" who witnessed the attack on Jonrick.

Naxomayus (2.7). A gladiator-turned-bounty-hunter who leads a band of elite bounty hunters, all wearing black, hooded cloaks. They are currently in search of Felix Broomhildakin.

Oralee (2.24) The caravan leader that hired the party to guard her wagons on the way to Dockin.

Orgrod Flagonsmith (2.15). A cousin of Urgrim's who owns a shop in Zargos.

Pobby (2.17) A male serving wench at Northwind's Sails in Zargos.

Warg (1.5) The goblins were working with a warg, whom the party left imprisoned at the killing field.

Wealthy Merchant (2.15) Felix decided to pick the pocket of a wealthy man in the market square of Zargos. The man had two bodyguards. His pouch contained a note, offering a reward to anybody that returns his lost pouch to him.

Young Boy (1.1). A young boy from Twin Towns was the first to help Jonrick when he collapsed on the street.

Zalam (2.17-2.20). Captain of the Thunderfish.

- His crew includes Bahara, Samm, Karsha; Nazar (the quartermaster); Qat Qatar (the boatswain); and Stretch (cook, carpenter, medic, and bottle-washer).
