What Next? -- The Epilogues

GUMPHREY

Eventually, Gumphrey returns to the city of Umbrafall, where he re-unites with his former guild. For Gumphrey, however, "thievery" had always been more about the challenge than the gold. And nobody, not even the richest of nobles, has security that can challenge him ... not after what he's been through with the Band of Four. For a while, he continued to sneak into places he wasn't supposed to be, only to sit there, stealing nothing and unsatisfied with the ease of which he could do so.

He was restless. And after a few months, he decided to do something about it.

Drawing on his experiences, he knew that the library was the best place to start. So, he went to the library in Umbrafall and read everything he could about the mythical race of Dwarves. He knew, however, that the library in Vilderoy was more complete. So, he said his farewells and asked Talmut to teleport him there. In Vilderoy, he continued his search, until he was pretty sure he knew where some old dwarven mines and strongholds once existed.

Eventually, he began a new journey, intending to travel from one dwarven hall to the next. His journey, however, was cut short.

His first stop, a "mine" along the Daxon-Arkonian border, located just above a ruined city. There, he found "dwarven artifacts" mixed among the remains of a human mine. Yet, that's not all. At the bottom of the mine, he found a series of stonework traps and secret doors, so-well hidden and so-well crafted that only Gumphrey himself could have gotten past them. Beyond the "gauntlet" (as he would later call it), he found it. The home of the dwarves.

And the dwarves were still living there!

At first, they were suspicious of the new-comer, but heard his tale and welcomed him as a long lost brother.

He spend the next few years travelling from one dwarven site to the next. The journey offered him plenty of chances for adventure, as the ancient dwarves faced as many threats and challenges as the humans do. And eventually, he came known to the Dwarves as "Gumphrey, Shadowbeard, Savior of the Five Clans."

But alas, his heart longed to see his friends. So, after seven years with the dwarves, he returned to Umbrafall, hoping to see his friends there.

TALMUT

Talmut returns immediately to the Arx. Under his leadership, the village surrounding the Arx steadily grows into a prosperous little town. By the time Gumphrey returns from his mountain tour, the road between Umbrafall and the Arx is fully cobbled.

With his feelings of battle and adventure satiated, Jeremiah returned home in search of his brother and father. With hopes of settling down and continuing with the simple life of his families tradition, living off the land and travelling from one wilderness to another. After finding them both, he learned that with all of the money he had been giving them over the years the long passed down tradition had ceased. The two now lived in Danmar and spent most of there time in taverns and bath houses. After a year of being torn between getting back to his roots and living life with his family, Jeremiah decided to once again set out into the wilderness. He traveled most of the known wilderness, and some of the unknown wilderness, in search of mythical beasts to hunt and make exotic furs. Occasionally over the next four years Jeremiah would return and check on his father and brother to see if they grew tired of their new life style. Showing them his exotic furs and telling them off his exhilarating hunts. Unable to persuade them though, over time he gave up trying to convince them. On the anniversary of the fifth year of the epic battle of saving the realm, Jeremiah decided to travel back to Umbrafall, to see if he could start the next adventure; tracking down the wizards three....

MIPHELGARA

Miphelgara returns to Dragonlands, northeast of Jotun Valley. just as he did in the alternate future. He spends several travelling, helping the dragons recover from what happened to them and serving as an ambassador between the dragons and Umbrafall. By the time Gumphrey returns, however, he is living atop the Serpentcoil Mountain and regular visits the Arx.
